The Indigenous Food Sovereignty Association (IFSA) aims to establish and grow an Indigenous-led network of Indigenous food sovereignty leaders, organizations and food producers across BC and Canada with a focus on these primary objectives:

  • Create a grassroots, Indigenous-led network of Indigenous food sovereignty advocates and food producers

  • Provide capacity building and leadership training for Indigenous project coordinators and community leaders to engage and lead Indigenous Food Sovereignty projects in their communities

  • Work with government and industries around policy shifts to even the playing field for Indigenous peoples, making room for reconciliation and equity work

  • Develop an Indigenous funding foundation that focuses on getting support out to projects and initiatives at different levels

  • Develop an Indigenous co-operative-type funding, financing, and material support for Indigenous food sovereignty projects and initiatives
